Bihar Assembly Monsoon Session to Begin July 20, to Last Five Days

PATNA, July 6 (BiharTimes): Bihar Governor Syed Ata Hasnain has convened the monsoon session of the state Legislative Assembly from July 20, officials said on Sunday. The five-day session is expected to witness key legislative business and discussions on important state issues.

According to an official notification issued by the Parliamentary Affairs Department, all members of the Assembly have been informed about the session schedule through a formal communication signed by Assembly Secretariat Secretary-in-Charge Poonam Sinha.

The opening day of the session will see the laying of copies of ordinances promulgated by the Governor during the period when the House was not in session, as per constitutional requirements.

The monsoon session is likely to be politically significant, with the ruling alliance and the opposition expected to engage in debates over governance, development initiatives, and other pressing matters concerning the state.

Given the limited duration of the session, the government is expected to prioritise key legislative and financial business, while the opposition may seek to raise issues related to public welfare and administrative performance.

Further details regarding the legislative agenda and schedule of proceedings are expected to be finalised ahead of the session. The upcoming session comes at a crucial time, as Bihar continues to navigate development challenges and prepare for future political milestones, making it an important platform for policy direction and accountability.
